JWD plots EEC access via port

August.17 2018

SET-listed JWD InfoLogistics Plc, an integrated inland logistics service provider, is interested in bidding for management of Laem Chabang seaport's Phase 3 as it seeks opportunities from the government's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) scheme.
JWD already handles warehousing, cold storage, automotive, dangerous goods, food services and inland container depots at the seaport. The company aims to team up with other partners for the bidding on seaport management.
The third phase of the seaport is one of the government's infrastructure projects under the EEC. The investment for this phase is worth 155 billion baht, and the seaport's development will be carried out under a public-private partnership.
"The Laem Chabang seaport will be a strategic shipment hub to welcome international sea freight and transport," said chief executive Charvanin Bunditkitsada.
JWD also plans to expand in China, the Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore to serve more logistics flows in the future.
The new expansion projects will be in both new countries and existing markets like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia.
"JWD will focus on the expansion of fully integrated logistics services because it expects long-term growth in Thailand and overseas countries," Mr Charvanin said.
At home, JWD will expand cold storage facilities in Wang Noi, Ayutthaya to serve food services and related supply chains in that province.
Mr Charvanin is confident that JWD's 2018 revenue will grow by 10% to 3.26 billion baht because overall logistics in the region has performed well.
JWD reported that revenue in the first half rose by 23.5% to 1.45 billion baht and net profit for the period increased 9.2% to 90.4 million baht.
For this year, JWD has prepared a 2.5-billion-baht investment budget for business expansion and mergers and acquisitions.
JWD recently bought a 60% stake in Taiwan's Chi Shan Long Feng Food through a subsidiary, Global Foodservice Network, in which JWD holds a 99% stake.
Founded in 1979, JWD InfoLogistics, a subsidiary of JVK Group, handles logistics services for a range of items.
The company set up AutoLogic in 2008 at Laem Chabang port in Chon Buri to provide yard management services for all types of vehicle exports. AutoLogic's other services include automotive yard storage, self-driving services and contamination control.
JWD shares closed on Thursday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 7.20 baht, up 40 satang, in trade worth 18.6 million baht.
